1. Data Protection
We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS, TLS) to ensure that your data is safe during transmission. Your passwords are cryptographically hashed and never stored in plain text.
2. Payment Security
All financial transactions are handled securely through the official Safaricom Daraja API. House Hunter does not store your M-Pesa PIN or directly handle funds in a way that exposes you to financial risk.
3. Account Security
We enforce secure Magic Link authentication via WhatsApp and Email for sensitive actions. Caretakers and administrators must use strong passwords. Users are responsible for keeping their accounts secure.
4. Physical Security (SOS Alerts)
The House Hunter Portal includes a panic button (SOS Alert) feature for tenants. Misuse of this critical feature will lead to severe penalties, as it directly mobilizes caretakers and emergency responders.
